Amidst the fray, a devastating fireball engulfs them, throwing the Guardian Knights off their feet. Miraculously, they are saved by a mysterious stranger.

With the palace's defenses breached, a horde of vile invaders swarm the capital. The Guardian Knight valiantly fights back, rescuing his friends Bob and Linda, and reuniting with Captain Eva. Together, they make a dash for the main palace, only to be confronted by a towering Minotaur. Through their combined efforts, Nate and Eva overcome this challenge and return to the palace to reunite with the young princess and Cammy. The player assumes the role of a guardian knight in a top-down perspective. Progression through the game's rounds necessitates engaging enemies, employing diverse strategies, and leading them to designated areas. However, if the combat is not resolved, the player will become "locked" in a specific region. Additionally, players can discover new heroes and acquire novel weapons by opening chests or exploring concealed locales.

Initially, players establish a base in the forest to recuperate after completing a stage. Upon finishing Chapter 1, players arrive at Paradise Castle, an airfield managed by the innkeeper Lorraine at her home. Gems can be utilized to summon heroes, offering players an additional strategic option. Furthermore, players have the option to form alliances with other players, unlocking a raid mode that targets four bosses.

Upon unlocking Heavenhold, players gain access to additional game modes, such as Colosseum and Arena. These competitive environments allow players to engage in battles alongside their peers.
